Yamaha Motor Corporation has released their 2013 line of YZ and YZ-F motocross race bikes. The model list includes the mini YZ85, the industry changing YZ250F and YZ450F, and the YZ125 and YZ250 two stroke staples. After hearing the desires of many for two stroke offerings, Yamaha has kept both the YZ125 and YZ250 in their line. Years of development have earned both bikes various honors and accolades, and with that, they remain unchanged. This is not a bad thing, as the aluminum frame, Kayaba 48 millimeter SSS forks, and power valved motors that both are outfitted with make them competitive in any class. he bike that began the four stroke movement, the YZ250F remains one of the most durable and competitive bikes on the market. The bilateral beam aluminum chassis and Kayaba Suspension allow the rider to guide the bike across any terrain, and the bulletproof small bore motor supplies power to overcome every obstacle.
The frame, intake, engine, and suspension of the YZ450F make the open class bike a revolutionary. With the intake and exhaust designed to feed in one direction, the bike keeps the weight centralized. The “tornado style” exhaust flows underneath the seat, which allows the fumes to exit without issue and eliminates any interference for the rider. The rear shock is also tilted to allow this design.
